Gabriel and Martha, his wife, are buried at the Spearman family cemetery. The inscription on the memorial placed by his children reads "Rev. Gabriel T. Spearman" and "Martha Ledbetter Spearman".
Also in this cemetery is a stone with the inscription "Our Daughter, M.A.M. Blackwell, Sept 10, 1861, Feb 13, 1863. It is most likely the daughter of Martha Spearman and Samuel S. Blackwell.
Directions to this cemetery are: Follow Highway 142 from Newborn toward Shady Dale. About one mile South of Farrar turn left on Midway Church Road. Cross the railroad track and continue to the intersection and turn left (about 3/10 mile). Follow road for about 1 1/2 mile to end of pavement and continue for another 4/10 mile. At a log road on the left a sign reads "QW9". About 50 yards further look for monument on left not more than 20 feet from road.
